Social Urbanism in Medellín.

The following animation aims to portray a social urbanism project named Taller Tropical, realized in the city of Medellín, Colombia. This project was a result of collaborative work among local and international professionals in a close relationship with the local community. The shown project was realised under the coordination of the local NGO Oasis Urbano, in charge of establishing the Taller Tropical. The animation was realized in an academic context, for a course focusing on informal settlements in Latin America. The choice of portraying this concrete example was made with the aim of highlighting the key role of professionals in the fields of architecture and urbanism to coordinate and implement projects, which, together with the local community, can make a difference in the daily lives of the neighbors.
