In this urban design project, an integral scalable strategy for the neighborhood of Las Cruces, in Colombia’s capital city, is presented. The proposal includes productive housing units for tenants of diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, offering active zones for commerce and learning opportunities in the ground-floor area. Under the lemma of ‘Productive Community’, this proposal aims to strengthen the social fabric of this neighborhood by retrofitting its heritage structures, improving its public space, and offering new educational and work opportunities, focusing on serving the most vulnerable population groups living and working in the area and its surroundings.
